Chocolate reduces stress. Fish stimulates the brain. Is there any truth to such popular beliefs? The findings of researchers around the world say yes: It appears we really are what we eat.
A study in a British prison found that inmates who took vitamin supplements were less prone to violent behavior. And in Germany, a psychologist at the University of Lübeck has shown that social behavior is influenced by the ingredients consumed at breakfast. But what really happens in the brain when we opt for honey instead of jam, and fish rather than sausage? Scientists around the world are trying to find out. Neuro-nutrition is the name of an interdisciplinary research field that investigates the impact of nutrition on brain health. Experiments on rats and flies offer new insight into the effects of our eating habits. When laboratory rats are fed a diet of junk food, the result is not just obesity. The menu also has a direct influence on their memory performance. The role of the intestinal flora has been known for some time, but scientists are currently discovering other relationships. So-called "brain food" for example: The Mediterranean diet that’s based on vegetables and fish is said to provide the best nutrition for small grey cells. Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish, for example, protect the nerve cells and are indispensable for the development of the brain - because the brain is also what it eats!

We always worries after party when we start giving them cake because some client start making scene, fighting and become combative to staff out of nowhere.     It's sad so many now believe carbohydrates is just bad, when it's a lie. We need carbohydrates, because it's the most important energy source. Increase physical excercise, cut down on fast carbs and increase slow carbs. Yes, SLOW carbs. We need fuel that will last for both mental and physical endurance throught our day, and oatmeal is a perfect example of a slow burning carb that are healthy for us. The other thing is that we also need fat, yes fat. You just got to choose the right fat instead of the wrong, and it's all about the balance of our intakes versus our outputs. There is no magic or any other whichcraft bullshit to do this. Just evaluate throughout your day how you actually feel, find out your actual needs through trial and error. We all got a heart, and it's there to help us when we need answers. If other people can find answers, then of course you can too. No need to sit and wait for others to feed you answers, because then you will be fed with so much lies. Find your own answers, because you can. Personally I find it sad that food is made into this overcomplicated thing, when all there is to it is to use common sense. Just start looking for answers.

    Im 21 years old and have awful memory. I find myself spacing out when someone speaks, confused and blank minded, unable to recall what I had just heard or read. I am someone who lives on the all american diet- and yes indulge in highly sugared foods and drinks. I think this video found me and it was NO ACCIDENT. I hope I have time to change things around. I want to retain information and not struggle to recall. I want to feel and be at 100%

She's a neuroscientist who worked with NFL athletes that endured trauma, and covers everything from better food, sleep and habits in an approachable way.

    they don't differentiate between glucose and fructose, and how these affect the body. they only talk about refined sugar (a mix of the 2 in loads of foods we eat). They say fats are bad and inflammate the body(except omega-3), but they don't talk about omega-6 (the only inflammating fatty acid)

There is no data that our bodies can actually take the omegas from nuts and use them properly. Showing meats as fatty foods. No they're not bad it's not the bad fat. That's actually the good fat. Eating the diet that you explain. I had cystic acne. My thyroid was low. The oxalates were killing me literally I almost died twice. That diet that you push no thanks. I'll stick to the one that I'm eating. Where my thyroid functions and my hormones are in check and I don't break out all over my skin with cystic acne. I'm good thanks.

I cannot stop wondering though if scientists take under consideration, when extracting their results, the stress of their subjects when in conditions of captivity eat or do what they are guided to do.     Work commitments, financial stress, sleep deprivation, dietary habits and uneducated populas. These factors effect our health and well being. Why is junk food cheaper than healthier alternatives? People have to make time to grow their own vegetables and fruit. I myself was lazy in my younger years and bought takeaway for lunch while living and working in the city doing my trade. Now I realise the importance of healthy diet healthy life.
